Who is a good candidate for All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants?
A good candidate for All-on-4 and other All-on-X dental implants is someone who has multiple missing teeth or is completely edentulous (no teeth at all). In addition, those with severe periodontal (gum) disease, which causes teeth to be extremely loose, are good candidates as well. Lastly, patients with multiple decayed or broken teeth can also benefit greatly from the All-on-4 or another All-on-X procedure. Explore various durable and high-quality materials, including zirconia implants which provide a natural look, feel, and function.
You can schedule a free consultation with Doctor Tsvetov, an experienced and AAOMS-certified All-on-4 specialist in Temecula Valley. He will examine your teeth and dental and health history and determine whether you’re a good candidate for this type of treatment.
What are All-on-4, All-on-6 & All-on-X dental implants?
Full arch dental implants involve a treatment process where all the teeth in either the upper or lower jaw, or both, are replaced with a set of natural-looking artificial teeth. It avoids the need for extensive bone grafting, which is often necessary with traditional implant placement.
Typically, four to eight implants per arch are required to achieve this. All‑on‑4 uses four implants, All‑on‑6 utilizes six to provide greater stability and load distribution, and All‑on‑X offers a fully customized approach with four to eight implants based on individual bone density and needs. All of the teeth would then be attached to those implants.

We have advanced technology and extensive expertise in the field, which makes us uniquely positioned to perform this type of procedure. As the foremost zirconia implant specialist, Dr. Tsvetov can handle the placement of All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X dental implants, ensuring their durability and reliability.
How do All-on-4, All-on-6 & All-on-X implants work?
The remaining teeth are removed and 4-8 dental implants per arch are placed into the jaw bone where the teeth were removed. Next, the patient gets a set of what’s called teeth-in-a-day—a dental bridge with 12-14 teeth is attached to the implants, mimicking the appearance and functionality of natural teeth. This is a temporary bridge, which is then replaced with a permanent one about three months later.
Once complete healing and integration of the implants have occurred, a permanent dental bridge is made. The permanent dental bridge is even more aesthetic and functional than the temporary one.
Therefore, whether you have missing, decaying, or broken teeth, you can regain functionality by opting for All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants. Doctor Tsvetov is a trusted maxillofacial surgeon who has done a great number of All-on-X dental implants in Temecula Valley. You can easily schedule a free consultation to discuss the next step.
How long does an All-on-X procedure take?
Full-arch dental implants, also referred to as implant-supported dentures, are typically a quick procedure. The surgical part includes removal of all remaining teeth, bone reshaping, and placement of 4-8 implants per arch, typically completed within 2 hours of surgical time. If the patient undergoes ‘All on 4’ or All-on-6 treatment for both upper and lower jaws on the same day, the procedure may take approximately 3 to 4 hours.
After surgery is completed, a customized temporary set of teeth will be attached to the implants. The patient will leave our office with a beautiful set of fixed/non-removable teeth on the day of the treatment. Three months after the surgery, once your All-on X implants have healed, the temporary teeth will be replaced with new porcelain or acrylic permanent teeth.
Here at our center in Temecula Valley, Dr. Tsvetov performs the teeth-in-a-day procedure with care and precision. Although you may feel some discomfort after the surgery, the healing process is fairly quick, so you will be able to go back to your daily life as soon as possible.
How uncomfortable are full-arch implants?
The discomfort felt after receiving full-arch dental implants is mild to moderate. A patient will need to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications (Ibuprofen) 3-4 times per day for three to five days to make sure they prevent any discomfort.
Occasionally, a stronger medicine such as Tylenol 3 or Vicodin may be needed intermittently for breakthrough discomfort. Once the patient reaches postoperative day four, the discomfort level should decrease greatly, and the swelling will start to markedly improve.
Undergoing the All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental procedure at our center means you’ll be able to choose between different anesthesia options. We want to help our patients go through their surgery with no discomfort and anxiety.
Anesthesia options for All-on-4, All-on-6 & All-on-X dental implants in Temecula Valley
Scheduling an appointment with our All on 4 dental implant specialist will enable you to go with the following anesthesia options for your procedure:
- Full general anesthesia: A patient is completely asleep during the procedure and a breathing tube is placed to support the patient’s airway. The anesthesiologist monitors the patient throughout the procedure.
- IV sedation/twilight sleep: A patient is asleep, but not as deeply as with General Anesthesia. The breathing tube is not placed and the patient continues to breathe on their own during the procedure.
- Local anesthesia: A patient is awake and the area being worked on is numbed with local anesthetics. The patient doesn’t feel any discomfort, but only pressure and pushing during the procedure.
We’re committed to making the experience of getting full-arch implants as comfortable as possible for you here in Temecula Valley. This is why we enable our patients to choose between the mentioned anesthesia options.
The benefits of the All-on-4 procedure
Undergoing the All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implant procedure brings you the following benefits:
- Addresses the whole dental arch (upper or lower jaw) achieving greater aesthetics and improved functionality of the teeth;
- An outpatient procedure, which is usually accomplished in a dental office in under 4 hours and completely transforms patients’ lives for the better;
- Avoids more extensive bone grafting/bone regenerative procedures, leading to a quicker, more comfortable surgery and easier recovery time, compared to traditional methods;
- Provides you with greater stability than removable dentures;
- All-on-X in Temecula Valley is more cost-effective than restoring individual missing teeth with single implants;
- Allows patients to regain confidence and functionality in being able to enjoy the foods they want to eat. Patients are able to enjoy foods they would not otherwise be able to with dentures or with multiple decayed/missing teeth. This, in turn, leads to better nutrition, which can lead to better health.
Enjoy technological and digital advances
Recent advances in digital dentistry and surgical technology have made full-arch implants more predictable, precise, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. To fully appreciate these advancements, we first need to take a closer look at the process and see how these technological improvements have improved our overall approach to All-on-X dental implants.
Expertise-based procedure for long-lasting dental implants
Getting full-arch dental implants in Temecula Valley typically starts with a patient whose teeth are in the terminal dentition stage, meaning that all teeth in the upper or lower jaw, or both, are beyond saving. These teeth are removed, and 4 to 8 implants are surgically placed, and they heal and permanently bond with the bone. As a result, the patient walks out of the office with a brand new, non-removable set of teeth.
Cutting-edge tech for successful implantation
The surgical part of the process has largely stayed the same – implants are still being placed in a traditional way. However, once the All-on-6 or All-on-X implants in Temecula Valley are placed, three new technologies are key to how the teeth that attach to these implants are made.
The first technology is photogrammetry, a special 3D camera that allows for precise capture of the position of the dental implants in a three-dimensional space. Think of this as a fancy photo that allows for capturing of new dental implant positions with precise 3D coordinates. The second technology is intraoral digital scanning, which allows the doctor to take a precise digital impression of all the soft tissues in the patient’s mouth, without the need for traditional dental impression materials.
These two pieces of information are then combined in a specialized dental computer software program. This allows for the new patient’s teeth to be custom-designed, taking into consideration the location of the new All-on-X implants and the surrounding soft tissues (gums). Once the design is finished, the teeth are manufactured on a 3D printer (third technology), utilizing high-quality dental materials. Upon finalizing the printing, they are processed, polished, and glazed before being placed into the patient’s mouth.
Out with the old, in with the new dental technology
In the past, getting full-arch implants was a lengthy process involving multiple traditional dental impressions, which could be uncomfortable and imprecise due to materials deforming over time. Additionally, acrylic teeth attached to metal posts with composite glue often required frequent repairs.
Today, All-on-X has been transformed by technology. Traditional impressions have been replaced by digital scans, which are both precise and accurate. Teeth are now made with 3D printers, resulting in strong and resilient replacements. If they break, a new set can be printed and delivered in less than 20 minutes. These advances not only enhance the patient experience and satisfaction but also allow the procedure to be performed with greater precision.
We think you would be amazed to find out how smooth, predictable and truly life-changing All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants can be.
